YOUTH PROGRAM
The Youth program at CUIAS is designed to help newcomer youth ages 13-24 successfully settle in Canada, overcome isolation by building social supports and develop a sense of belonging while learning about Canadian culture. We offer various programs and activities that assist youth during this process including:
Ø An after school homework club (Free tutoring for Math, English, French, Chemistry and History)
Ø Individual or group consultations on various topics such as registering for high school, applying to college/university, obtaining a job, assistance with writing a resume etc. Free computer/internet sessions are also available
Ø Field Trips and Excursions (Wonderland, African Lion Safari, Casa Loma, Black Creek Pioneer Village)
Ø Workshops: resume writing, internet search, interview preparation
Ø Monthly Sports Club: soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton
Ø English-speaking groups (for youth who would like to improve their English speaking skills)
Ø French-speaking club (Beginner and intermediate levels for youth wishing to learn/improve their French speaking skills)
Ø Social events (Christmas socials, movie nights, bowling events and more)
Ø Pilates/Dance classes (for youth who wish to learn latin or hip hop dance or participate in pilates classes after school)
