Youth Corner
Immigration can be a difficult time, especially for young people. The Youth Program at CUIAS is designed to help newcomer youth ages 13-24 settle in a new country. We offer various programs and activities that assist youth during this process including an after-school homeowork club; English-speaking groups; movie nights; monthly sports games; field trips and excursions; French-speaking club; workshops on relevant topics (resume-writing, interview preparation; MS Office) and weekly dance classes.
Our Mandate:
Ø To promote personal and social development of youth by establishing relationships an da sense of belonging while learning about Canadian culture.
Ø To create a welcoming environment for newcomer youth (ages 13-24) to spend time together, share stories/ideas/issues/problems/concerns, learn to help each other out in productive and respectful ways, overcome isolation and loneliness and integrate into community life to become productive members of society.
Ø To provide information, support and resources on specific issues affecting newcomer youth.
If you have any questions or would like to register for our youth program, please contact Victoria or Oksana at 416-876-9350.
